Bucharest Christmas Market lies right at the heart of the city at the University Square, and it is opened for visitors throughout all of December, make the beautiful city shine and glitter with almost 2.6 million lights especially set up for the holidays.
Everyone is welcomed to a place of joy and explore the unique Romanian traditions. The Christmas Market, gathers 65 wooden stalls with beautiful handicrafts and ornaments: ceramics, embroidered fabrics, wooden and leather crafts, masks, music instruments, church icons, traditional Romanian costumes, manually painted Christmas balls and much more. Also one of the most important attractions are the Romanian traditional food and beverages: cheese, smoked bacon, sausages, ”sarmale” our traditional cabbage meat rolls, walnut traditional cake, ginger bread, apple juice, hot mulled wine, plum brandy.
For the your ones there’s Santa Clause’s House from faraway Lapland right here in Bucharest, Santa will welcome to his house and talk to all well behaved children and offer them sweets. He will be accompanied by fairies and elves. Children can also write letters for Santa and place them in a special box. Santa promises to read them and make their wishes come true. After, children can go on carousel rides
The Christmas Market can’t be complete without carols, folklore songs, traditional and pop music concerts.
This year yearly Christmas Donation Campaign is available. Visitors can donate books and toys inside Santa’s House and we will be sure to offer them to the less fortunate children as a Christmas gift and make them smile.
